YOG football coach dies after collapsing during soccer match

V Sivalingam collapsed while playing in a soccer match on Sunday to raise funds for paralysed former national player S Anthonysamy.

The incident happened half an hour into the game and the 51—year—old was rushed to Tan Tock Seng hospital.

He was later pronounced dead.

He was former coach of Tampines Rovers Football Club in the S.League and also coach of Singapore’s under—14 football team that played in the Asian Youth Games.

He is survived by a wife, two sons and a daughter.

Zainudin Nordin, president, The Football Association of Singapore, said: "We are all devastated by the news. Our condolences and thoughts are with Sivalingam’s family at this very difficult time and we will render all the necessary assistance in their time of need."

Last month, ex—national footballer Dollah Kassim also collapsed while playing soccer.

He is now out of intensive care but is still in a coma and warded at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. — CNA/ms

Troubles

I got a lot of troubles recently.

One day, my best friend Nicolas asked me to copy my homework for him, he forgot to do so, I passed my homework to Justin, Justin was coping for him. But, all of us were caught by my maths teacher, Ms Goh. She called my mum. eeehhhhh......

The next day, my classmate Kok Tom's mother called my mum, said that I bullied Kok tom. Actually, he fought with me first.

Anyway, my mum says if I don't behalf, she and Ms Goh will ask my form teacher to remove me from school team. eeeehhhhh

Football, ahya!

I was very happy when I was chosen to be in school football team. My mother was not so happy but she allowed me for football camp.

But, oh, rat!, I fell and broke my right ankle. Now I can play football for at least 100 days.(crying)
